Can you REALLY Grow Taller

Can you REALLY Grow Taller?

Human beings are no longer limited by their genes–at least, not in terms of their appearance.  For generations, women have worn makeup to conceal flaws in their features and have colored their hair to conceal the gray that comes with age. In the twentieth century, doctors added the gift of plastic surgery to the bag of tricks used to change human appearance. Later, when disposable contact lenses became common, colored lenses became merely another accessory.

A person’s height, however, was assumed to be constant once a person reached a certain age. Unless a person shrank with age, not an uncommon occurrence to be sure, conventional wisdom had it that after a person reached puberty that it was impossible to grow any taller. Many people believe that the growth plates at the ends of an individual’s long bones close once a person passes puberty, making it impossible for any further growth to take place. This conventional wisdom, however, is simply untrue!

The truth of the matter is that, despite the passing of the hormonal changes that characterize puberty, the long bones continue to grow. This extended growth period might last for up to several years into maturity, although it is not as noticeable once the hormones controlling the rapid growth experienced in childhood stop flowing. While it is true that the bones in the arms and legs will not become any longer after the growth plates have closed, growth still remains possible for the person who is willing to try for those last two or three inches, or even more!

How is it possible to grow taller, growth hormones are no longer being produced? If the legs have ceased growing and the human skull is incapable of expanding, then what is it that permits a person to grow taller? The human body is a wonderful thing. Although the average person feels there is no hope of growing taller during his or her adult years, the fact is that the leg bones are not the only ones that determine height. In fact, the bones of a person’s spine might constitute on third or more of his or her total height.  Unlike the long bones in a person’s legs, the spine is flexible and uncapped against further growth. Even if it is impossible for a person to grow taller due to his or her legs growing longer, nothing prevents that same person from extending the length of his or her spine. Stretching, therefore, is invaluable to a person who wants to grow taller after puberty.  What remains a secret, known to only a small portion of the population, is just how it is possible to stretch the spine to grow taller.  You, too, can learn the way to become taller, even if you are well out of your teenaged years.  In an age in which taller people are perceived as being more attractive, more imposing, and even more competent than their shorter peers, why wouldn’t you like to grow taller, too?
